Hospitals and Hotline Catering to Foreign Nationals during Nighttime Hours and on Holidays
There are hospitals in Sapporo that accept foreign nationals during nighttime hours and on holidays. Additionally, the Emergency Relief Center Sapporo accepts telephone calls in foreign languages 24 hours a day. Be sure to use these hospitals and hotline if you happen to fall ill during your visit.

Sapporo City “Medical Communication Hotline ” (medical support for foreign tourists)
The City of Sapporo provides a Medical Communication Hotline to support foreign residents, including tourists, when they visit medical institutions.
After registering the necessary information via the application form or phone call, a representative will make an appointment at the hospital and provide an interpreter on the day of the visit.
This service is free of charge and does not require registration, so please take advantage of this service for emergency support at accommodations and tourist facilities.

Natural disasters
If you encounter natural disasters such as earthquakes, remain calm and secure your own safety.If you are in your hotel, please evacuate according to the instructions of the staff.
When you are outdoors, either return to your hotel or go to the nearest evacuation shelter.
Evacuation shelters
・Evacuation shelters are safe places that can be used by anyone.
・In most cases, local elementary and junior-high schools and parks serve as evacuation shelters.
・Food and water is distributed, and you can get information.
・Walk to the evacuation shelters (do not run).
